Coral Castle is a ten acre site in Homestead, Florida consisting of 1,100 tons of carved solid coral furniture, sculpture, and buildings.  Between 1923 and 1951, Edward Leedskalnin personally carved and sculpted all of the coral with only hand tools.  Coral in this case is essentially solid calcium.  Most of Florida is covered with coral several million years old.  No coral reefs were altered or destroyed during the creation of Coral Castle.
